Senior Android Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Understand the design of Penthera products, the flow of code, and how it interacts with different components

  • Understand project documents, customer requirements, and product objectives to design software that meets the needs for a variety of stakeholders

  • Design, build, and maintain Penthera’s streaming media software development kit for Android

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of complex software

  • Collaborate with other team members and other teams to architect, design, and ship new features

  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and test tools

Who you are

We are looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You are a developer responsible for the development and maintenance of Penthera’s market-leading Android Software Development Kit (SDK) for media streaming applications targeted for a vast number of diverse Android-based devices. Your primary focus will be development of native Android code and its integration with backend services. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. You have commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of at-scale quality products.

To be successful, you should have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as strong communication skills. You should have a passion for elegant software architecture, efficient performant code, and the ability to upgrade your technical skills within the constantly changing technology sector.

Qualifications​​

  • 6+ years of experience in Android software engineering

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Self-driven; experience and success in operating independently
