Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Understand the design of Penthera products, the flow of code, and how it interacts with different components

  • Understand project documents, customer demands, and product objectives to create and execute test cases

  • Setup, maintain, and execute test automation frameworks on multiple application platforms (iOS, Android, web) and build test scenarios and acceptance tests

  • Investigate customer problems referred by the customer support team, testing bugs, and creating/managing bug reports

  • Analysis of system designs and coordination/teamwork with senior engineers to enhance overall design and testability

Who you are

We are looking for a SDET/Software Engineer to join our engineering team, someone who is a meticulous individual to contribute to and review the creation of designs and production software. Your responsibilities will include both software development and testing tasks and focus on the testability, robustness, and performance of production software. You are a software engineer with 2-3 years of programming experience who has a passion for absolute quality and the creativity to find and develop functional tests for edge cases we haven't thought of yet. You will work side-by-side with senior engineers to develop, maintain, and use test automation frameworks to ensure that Penthera delivers the maximum quality possible to its many top tier customers.

To be successful, you should have excellent time management and organizational skills as well as strong communication skills. You should have a passion for design, development, and testing and the ability to upgrade your technical skills within the constantly changing technology sector.

Qualifications​​

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 2-3 years of experience writing commercial software

  • Self-driven; experience and success in operating independently

  • Fluency in at least one of: Java, Kotlin, Objective C, Swift

  • Ability to use git and other software development tools effectively within a team of engineers

  • Experience with mobile and backend unit test frameworks, such as JUnit, mockito, XCTest, etc, a plus

  • Experience with automated test tools, such as Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber, a plus

  • Experience with Groovy, MongoDB, and AWS APIs a plus
